Deliberate and attentive service delivers Chaloem Chaiseeha's polished northern Thai cuisine - some of the city's best - and the former State Bank premises have a certain prudential grandeur. The recent re-vamp has also opened up the restaurant to private outdoor dining in the "Loei Garden". The food is vivid, the menu urging diners not to pull back on the chilli in the house-made curry pastes. The signature "Pla Goong"Prawns make an aromatic entree, seared and glossy with Ginger, Lemongrass and Chilli making a tart, syrupy dressing. Crispy skinned Atlantic Salmon Fillets with Red Curry Paste and chewy/crunchy belly pork punctuate glossy Chinese broccoli feature on the list of fiery Wok-tossed dishes. The daily fish might be gently steamed, lemongrass and kaffir lime-stuffed Snapper drizzled with Nahm Jim sauce feisty with fresh lime. Desserts have a sophisticated touch, Ginger and Kaffir Lime Brulee or Coconut Cream Panacotta paired with house-made tangy Lime & Ginger Ice cream. On the flip-side, Saturday Mornings feature intimate and hands-on Thai Cooking Master-Classes run by experienced Chefs teaching popular Thai dishes and Paladarr favourites.
